Natural Light 1


The following are all photos I took of people at an outdoor event using natural light. For most of the event it was very bring outside so I tried taking the photos from different angles because I really wasn't sure how they were going to turn out. Below are some of my favorites that I feel showcase the different approaches with natural light that I tried.

For this assignment my mind immediately went to flowers because many of them are so small and delicate yet have so many pretty details. Illustration

Coming up with an idea for the Illustration assignment was challenging because when theres an issue that bothers me I am really passionate about it and so I have found it hard to pick an issue and illustrate it through just a few photos. Initially I had thought I wanted to do something about domestic abuse victims and shooting one that is far from the stereotypical image of what this looks like. Due to lack of resources I transitioned away from that idea and that night attended a guest speaker in the Eccles Fine Arts Center. This is where I very unexpectedly found my topic for my Illustration. Jessica Cox was born without arms. More significantly, she is a certified scuba diver, holds two blackbelts in martial arts, and is the very first person to become a certified pilot without arms.
